UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN
In late 2022 Jenelle was contracted to create a stop motion video illustrating the findings of a University of Michigan laboratory that studies the light-sensitive photoreceptor cells of the retina. This video is shown in conjunction with their published work at science conferences worldwide, notably most recent in Australia 2023 and Argentina 2024.
"Gateway"
The transition zone barrier is leaky letting in proteins that causes photo receptor death.
How are these compartments separated?
What is the barrier that separates?
This video illustrates through simplified characters and story, how the Tctn+1 (Protein Trespasser) interacts with the BBS/IFT (Protein) within the transition zone (junction between the outer and inner segment) of the photoreceptor Cell.
